Art Rush Special Exhibition "Alice's Dream"
Tae Kawagoe, a pressed flower artist from Pressflower Studio Japan, is working on a project for the art gallery "Art Rush" in Daikanyama, Tokyo.
We will be participating in the special exhibition "Alice's Dream"!
The fantasy world of "Alice in Wonderland" woven with pressed flowers
"Alice in Wonderland" is a classic beloved all over the world.
That fantastical world,
I tried to express it through pressed flower art.
The unique characters and fantastical landscapes that appear in the story,
It is created by taking advantage of the delicate texture of plants.
Mysterious and elegant lady-like Cheshire Cat
She watches over Alice's adventure with dignity and warmth.
A white rabbit in formal attire with a collar decoration
A voice said, holding a pocket watch and saying, "Hurry, hurry," as he hurried to the tea party.
I can almost hear it now
An entrance to a mysterious world where time and space are distorted
At the entrance to the forest,
It created a unique scene that transported you to another world.
Talking roses and a fantastical forest
The natural scenery where Alice gets lost,
Realistic reproduction using actual plants
Through the technique of pressed flowers,
Blending "real nature" into a fantastical story,
Creating a unique worldview
The texture and color of real plants,
Breathing new life into the story
I hope to invite the viewer into a world of wonder.
All of Kawagoe Tae's works use pressed flowers that she has personally pressed.
Enjoy this one-of-a-kind piece of art that makes use of natural colors without any artificial coloring.
