"Ocean" and "Summer Memories" drawn with pressed flowers
--We will be exhibiting at the special exhibition "The Sea... Feelings"
This summer, a special exhibition will be held at the Daikanyama art gallery "ARTS RUSH"
At the "Sea... Feelings" exhibition
Pressed flower artist Kawagoe Tae from Pressfloser Studio Japan will be exhibiting.
This time, inspired by the theme of "sea,"
"Memories of Summer" is expressed using pressed flowers, composed entirely of plants.
🌴Humorous summer characters
For example, a cheerful character who looks like he's about to break out into dance.
In fact, this piece is also made entirely from plants.
A small pineapple on a body that looks like it's wearing an aloha shirt.
And stylish sunglasses are also made using pressed flowers🌸 .
The subtleties of color, texture, and layering, along with humor
It conveys the sense of freedom and excitement of summer .
A playfulness that will make you chuckle,
The delicate expressions of plants...
The finished product allows you to experience both of these things.
🌊 Drawing "Sun" and "Waves" with Plants
Motifs that symbolize summer, such as the sun and waves,
All are represented by real plants .
While making use of the shape of the leaves and flowers,
The layers are carefully layered to trace the silhouette.
It's in the hearts of each viewer.
As if gently evoking "that summer sea"...
We value the quiet power that only plants possess .
🐋 "Sperm Whale Lying Down" Pressed Flowers
And for this work, I have a theme that I have been nurturing in my heart for a long time.
We also tried our hand at capturing the mysterious sight of a sperm whale lying down .
How can we express this mysterious ecology of sleeping vertically in the deep sea using only plants?
I was finally able to create this piece after being given the theme of "the sea."
Packed with the infinite possibilities and charm of pressed flowers,
It became a work that I feel very attached to.
🌼 Pressing flowers is not just about pressing flowers
When you think of pressed flowers, many people may imagine flowers that have been flattened out.
However, by layering the texture and shape of plants,
It can express light, atmosphere, and even stories .
The petals become the wind, the leaves become the waves...
I would be delighted if you could come and see this world for yourself in the gallery .
The overlapping of pressed flowers creates
Experience the nuances of light and shadow .
Come and experience the world of "summer memories" woven through pressed flowers.
